Cindy Waddell serves as Vice President of Language Services at SeaMe Systems, bringing a unique blend ofbusiness leadership, accessibility advocacy, and interpreting expertise to the organization.
Cindy began her career with 25 years in insurance and financial services, where she held roles in sales, marketing, and client account management. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) and member of an extended Deaf family, Cindy later returned to her roots as a professional sign language interpreter, aligning her career with her lifelong connection to the Deaf community.
She joined the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD), a leading nonprofit providing advocacy, education, and referral services for Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard-of-Hearing individuals throughout Southern California. At GLAD, Cindy initially served as a Job Developer and Interpreter, achieving the highest job placement rate across eight offices.
Recognizing her ability to bridge business strategy and accessibility services, GLAD created a new role for Cindy as Senior Account Manager for its subsidiary, LIFESIGNS, Inc., the largest and longest-established ASL interpreting agency in Southern California. Her success led to her promotion to Director of LIFESIGNS, where she oversaw a $3.5+ million operation, managed more than 2,000 client relationships, and coordinated a network of over 200 independently contracted interpreters.
At SeaMe Systems, Cindy leads the expansion of Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and language access services, helping organizations deliver effective, compliant communication for both Deaf and hearing individuals.
